Publishing « Livres d'artistes » is a parallel story! A hobby... just a hobby.

At the end of the sixties, invited by the poet and art critic Jacques Lepage , in the village of Coaraze, near Nice, he had the opportunity to meet the artists of the « Support/Surface » group and the poets of « TXT ». With them , he will begin to publish « livres d'artistes » for his own pleasure and those of his poets & artists friends.

So, the exhibition of his artists books at the National Modern Art Museum in the Pompidou Center in Paris in 1977 was a great & wonderful surprise for him as well those later at theVictoria & Albert Museum in London, the Beverly Hills Public Library, the Center of Books Art in New York....

Following these exhibitions came the idea of "Global Books" from which Gervais Jassaud orchestrated the collaborations of artists and writers from all over the world.

40 years after his first « livre d'artistes » Gervais Jassaud is still in addiction with contemporary Art and Litterature.... and of course with the « Livres d'artistes »..
